Colombia Marriage / Partner Visa

The Colombian Marriage or Partner Visa allows you to legally reside in Colombia as the spouse or legally registered partner of a Colombian national.

This visa is initially granted for a period of one to three years and the time acquired counts towards the expedited three year residency requirement to receive a R Resident visa in Colombia.

This visa allows you to work or conduct commercial activities in Colombia.

‍Three step Process

1. Register your Marriage or Partnership with a Notary in Colombia
2. Apply for and receive your Colombian Marriage / Partnership Visa.
3. Apply for and receive your Cedula (Colombian Foreigner ID).

General Requirements for the Colombia Digital Nomad Visa

1. Copy of your passport
2. Entry stamp into or exit stamp out of Colombia
3. Passport photo
4. Letter stating reason for the visa
5. Letter from spouse / partner requesting visa
6. Copy of spouse’s CC (Colombian ID card).
7. Legal copy of decree certifying marriage or partnership

Notes

1. The application process typically takes 30 days… plan accordingly.
2. You must apply for your cedula  (Colombian foreign ID) within 30 days of your visa approval.
3. Does not include government fees of approximately $300 USD
4. You will become a tax resident if you spend more than 183 days per year in Colombia.
