Brazil Digital Nomad Visa
The Brazil Digital Nomad Visa grants legal residency in Brazil to individuals who can demonstrate a monthly income of at least $1,500 USD or a bank balance of $18,000 USD. This visa is initially valid for one year and can be renewed annually for at least two years, with no specific legal limit on the number of renewals.
This visa does not provide a direct pathway to permanent residency or citizenship. Eligible income sources include employment, self-employment, or investment earnings, as long as they are generated outside of Brazil. Holders of this visa may work remotely for a foreign company or as independent contractors but are not permitted to be employed by a Brazilian company.

- Apply for and receive you RNE (Brazilian Foreigner’s ID card)
General Requirements for the Brazil Digital Nomad Visa
- Copy of your passport
- Health insurance valid in Brazil (travel insurance is not accepted)
- Criminal record clearance
- Certified Birth certificate (must be less than six months old)
- Proof of financial means (approx $1,500 USD for past 6 months or $18,000 USD in savings)
- Employment letter or service contracts
- Letter stating reason for the visa
- Letter stating you will not work in Brazil
- Passport photo

- You will become a tax resident if you spend more than 183 days per year in Brazil
